Aaron Aragon, Drum Major at Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps.

 Aaron was born on the 26th of June in the year 1996 in the Central Valley Community of Bakersfield, California. He was introduced to music in the fourth grade with recorders, which at the time seemed like a fun activity. He was later introduced to the Alto Saxophone his 5th grade year and later switched to the Baritone Saxophone his 8th year in school and ever since then, has played in various ensembles playing a wide range of music and style. 

Aaron was raised in California’s Central Valley and went to West High School. While at West High School, he was actively a part of the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, serving as their Commanding Officer, and the West High School Viking Regiment, serving as their Drum Major for his last year there. His leadership experiences with the NJROTC and the band program led him to want to continue his leadership after high school.

During the “off season” Aaron studies at California State University Bakersfield working on his major in the Biological Sciences. He plans to take a career in the biological field and/or medical field. On his free time, Aaron enjoys photography as a hobby. He recently started a small media page called Aragon Productions with hopes of having his hobby acclimate into a side career. 

In the summer of 2014, Aaron served as the Drum Major for the inaugural season of the Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps. His first summer in Drum Corps opened up great memories and led to some long lasting friendships. Drum corps has taught him the value of commitment, responsibilities, and most definitely water. He returned to Golden Empire in 2015 and will return this year as their head Drum Major.
