Willie Careri
Founder, Writer
Raised in the Poconos, Willie Careri was born into a musical family. With parents who could play instruments and a sister who was a percussionist, Willie knew he would end up in band, but he would have no idea that music would lead him to where he is today.
It was in the first year of high school that Willie Careri discovered both marching band and drum corps. He was part of his school's competitive band and football marching band playing baritone. A friend shared a website for drill writing and this is where it all started.
It didn't take long before Willie knew that he wanted to do this for a living. After a year and a half, he asked his high school band director to give him the opportunity to write the drill for the football marching band. He agreed. Willie soon began writing, and before he knew it, his first show was complete. He loves designing and is now reaching out to other schools.
Willie has been very active in the drum corps and marching community for the past couple years. Some of his drum corps experience includes marching with The Jersey Surf World Class Drum and Bugle Corps in 2014 on Baritone along with four years of high school marching band. Willie is a part time drill writer and works with high school students prepare to enter the drum corps activity. He has been a DCI Ambassador for the 2013, 2014, and 2015 seasons and works countless hours to inform his school and community about the experiences he has had while marching to inspire the next great marchers and musicians.
Willie currently resides in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and is pursing a Communications Degree.
