Things shook up last night in Akron. The Troopers with their show “Wild Horses”, finished 9th with a score of 59.4, improving well over a point from their 58.1 the previous night in Louisville. The corps finished 6th in General Effect 1 and Music Analysis, and finished 7th in all remaining captions. Premiering their show “Conquest”, the Boston Crusaders opened up their 2015 season with a score of 61.6. The corps finished 5th in General Effect 1 and Visual Proficiency, 6th in GE 2, Visual Analysis, Color Guard, and Brass, and finished 7th in all remaining captions. The Blue Stars saw a big gain over their score the previous night of a 62, with a 63.65 in Akron. Their show “Side Show” notably finished 2nd in Brass Achievement, tying the Bluecoats. The corps finished 7th in GE 1, 6th in Visual Proficiency, and 2nd in all remaining captions. The Cavaliers with their show “Game On” finished 3rd with a score of 66.75 over the previous nights 65.8. The corps was 4th across the board. Carolina Crown finished 3rd with a score of 71.55 with their show “Inferno”. The corps won brass and color guard, finished 2nd in Visual Proficiency, and 3rd in all remaining captions. In an interesting matchup the Bluecoats topped the Cadets show “The Power of 10” by just .1 with their show “Kinetic Noise”. The Cadets finished 1st in GE 1 and overall GE, and Visual Analysis, 2nd in Music Analysis and Percussion, and 3rd in Visual Proficiency, Brass, and Color Guard. The Bluecoats finished 1st in GE2, Visual Proficiency, Music Analysis, and Percussion for a tight margin of .1 with their score of 73.25 over Cadets 73.15.
