For the 11th and final time, DCI Atlanta was held in the Georgia Dome. Next year, the Southeastern Championship will take place at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It was a full day of competition featuring Open Class, World Class, and All-Age Class corps.

All-Age Class

Competition in Georgia kicked off with the All-Age class. These DCA Corps will be competing through September 3rd, culminating in Rochester, NY at the 2016 DCA World Championships. All-Age Class featured three corps; Atlanta CV, Alliance, and Carolina Gold. Atlanta CV took the top spot and swept all captions. Alliance took the second spot and Carolina Gold rounded the All-Age Class.

Open Class

Open Class was well represented in Atlanta as Heat Wave and Southwind competed. Both of these corps completed their competitive seasons tonight by leaving it all on the field. They have laid the foundation for many great seasons to come.

Congratulations to both Heat Wave and Southwind on their incredible seasons!

World Class

There is another first time winner in Atlanta. The Bluecoats are en-route to a historic season as the held off the Blue Devils and Carolina Crown for the top spot. Competition was fierce amongst all the corps as they fight for positions.

The Bluecoats took the victory tonight and earned a score of 91.7125. They took both the General Effect and Music captions, and second in the Visual caption.

The Blue Devils too second in Atlanta with a score 91.4875. They took first in the Visual caption, second in General Effect, and third in Music.

Carolina Crown rounded out the top three as they scored a 90.8750. They took second in Music and third in the General Effect and Visual captions.

The Santa Clara Vanguard took fourth, the Cadets took fifth, and the Cavaliers rounded out the top six. There is less than two points separating the four-six positions. Any of these positions could be up for grabs come Finals.

Rounding out the top 12 in order are; the Blue Knights, Blue Stars, Phantom Regiment, Crossmen, Madison Scouts, and the Academy.

Congratulations to the Bluecoats on their victory in Atlanta, as well as all the corps who competed. This season is shaping up to be one of the best and we can not wait to see what Finals holds for us!
