The DCI East 40th Anniversary was filled with stories that will be told for many years.

On Friday afternoon, Gary Tollers, a long time Blue Stars staff member, supporter, and volunteer passed away in Allentown doing what he loved to do. The drum corps community came together to support the corps in their time of sadness.

Saturday also brought the last Allentown performance for the Bridgemen. To commemorate the occasion, their brothers and sisters at the Jersey Surf joined them in a playing of "In the Stone" after their performance.

The biggest performance news story came from the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers came out on top of The Cadets. Two shows that have been known to have controversy all season long between music selections, prop use, and implementations of electronics.

Comparing scores from both nights, Boston Crusaders have found themselves in 12th place and in the running for finals once again but pushing ahead of Madison Scouts who find themselves in 13th place.

This is a season where it is nearly unpredictable to see who will finish where by finals night. Currently, there is a 0.362 difference between 1st and 3rd place, a 0.450 point difference between 4th and 6th place, a 0.200 point difference between 7th and 9th place, and a 2.000 point difference between 10th and 13th place. There is no telling what will happen this upcoming week.

With one of the largest crowds that have entered J. Birney Crum Stadium, it truly shows how large this activity has grown along with the tradition that comes along with the DCI Eastern Classic.
