As the two coasts each compete and get better by the day, it was immediately found that there was going to be remarkably tough competition, especially with the amount of 1st to 2nd place change off between Blue Devils and The Cadets at their neck and neck scores. As they constantly traded off, Blue Devils took first up the leaderboard once more with reaching nearly a 79.400, putting them ever so slightly above The Cadets. Yet the seven world class and five open class corps surely gave much to show at Corps at the Crest, as the scores divided and split far more consistently than previous performances bundling up in usually 4th to 5th places. From Blue Devils taking 1st of the entire night and in the world class division (79.400) and Golden Empire taking 1st in the open class division (51.600), it was surely a night to remember, and a great budding for some of the lower corps.
Open Class had gaps between the scores of all five, however, score and performance wise, each had something that contributed more over the others. Neither of the five had something that made them truly stand out from the others, but as these five corps aren't given enough rep as some other open class corps, they've shown massive improvement and will hopefully be talked about quite much sooner or later, whether later in the season or in future years to come by. Moving onto some key points of the scores, the gap between Golden Empire (51.600) and Gold (49.800) was noticeable but small, but what really should be observed is that the two had tied on the scores for Visual, giving them each a 15.30, which means we can surely see an improvement more over Gold's visual ability quite soon. Their leap in Visual Consistency and Color Guard had made their ability shine more, and we'll hopefully see a surge from them soon throughout the season.
As for World Class, Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard remained in their first to second ratio over all the other corps on the western tour, leaving in a smaller gap, but a noticeable clash between the two over the rest of the corps. It'll be quite interesting though to see how much more these two corps will improve, and how quickly and consistently. We've observed how massive competitiveness between eachother and their child corps (Vanguard Cadets and Blue Devils B), whether if these two are feeding into eachother and improving more because of the other, we'll surely see them be quite the competitors leading up near the end of the season. Underneath them came another clash between Phantom Regiment and Blue Knights. With their constant switch offs for placement between eachother like that of Blue Devils and The Cadets (although different scoring system between the two), who is to say which one will come out over the other? Although their scores weren't as compacted as they have been before, they do however make a slight scrunch up in the center of World Class scoring.
